Frequently asked questions

How do I get there?There is limited parking around the venue. It is a 19 minute walk from Roma Street train station. There are a number of bus stops near the venue. Check out directions on Google Maps or Translink Journey Planner.

What should I bring?A water bottle, and a mug if you want tea and coffee. A plate and utensils for lunch and refreshments. We will have some of both for those who don't bring them, but we ideally want this to be a zero-waste conference so it will help us out immensely.

Can I volunteer?If you're keen to help, we'd love to have you. Find out more on our Get Involved page.

Dietary requirementsAll catering is vegan. We'll also have a gluten-free lunch option that you can choose when booking your ticket. For any other dietary requirements, let us know via the contact details in the footer and, as long as we have some notice, we will look into it.

What are the community sessions?We're going to have a space open for everyone to speak. We'll have a facilitator, and a group of invited guests to get the discussion going. Once they've introduced their perspectives, we hope to get yours.

How do I get to the dinner at Yavanna from the Forum?Yavanna is a 13 minute walk from the forum and there are also buses along Given Terrace. Directions via Google Maps

Who is organising this?This is being organised by a small volunteer group of long term activists. Animal Liberation Queensland, now known as AnimalKIND, are also providing insurance for the event. For more info, check out the About page, and stay in touch with us via facebook.com/A4AForum.

Is this suitable for children?There may be videos or discussions which won't be suitable for children. We would recommend 14 as the minimum age.

Will sessions be recorded?We aren't planning on it, although if we get a volunteer who would like to assist, it's possible that the talks in the main room will be recorded. We'll update the info here and make an announcement on the day if so.
